What's In Your Storage Container

What's In Your Storage Container?

Matthew 12:33‭-‬37

Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.  You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.  But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.  For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” NIV

….. For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. NLT

…. For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks. AMPC

……..For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. NKJV

……. Your mouth says what comes from inside you. GW

 Matthew 12:34‭-‬37
“How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” MSG

Your heart is the storage container which holds the Words that come out of your mouth. Whether you like it or not, every word you speak can be traced to your heart and what you are storing in it. So you are in charge of what goes into the container. You carry it with you and from there it produces results based on the words you speak. With our words we grow the fruit we live our life by. We use these stored words for ourselves as well as for others. We will be known for our words, it will bring us good fruit or bad fruit or no fruit. So what's in your container?

Scriptures state we have the ability to store up what comes out of our heart. Some people we meet  have only evil and that's what they pull out because that is what they stored up, some have garbage and that's what they pull out,  and some have nothing, It's empty and that's what they pull out. However, some have what's good and they can pull that out. The real, obvious test is what comes out of the mouth is what has been stored up, and what comes out is what is connected to the fruit which will be produced. Whether you like it or not this is the fruit you live on yourself.

What comes out of your mouth is what you are living on. This is based on what you are putting in your container or your heart. You are in charge of storing up the good. So what's in your heart or what's in your container reveals what you have been storing away or putting in to bring out. It's always going to be the heart behind a word that comes out of your mouth and it will produce life or not. The heart is what brings it to life, and gives it meaning.

Three main areas to examine your words by to see if they are idle, careless, useless or empty
1. What you believe about God,
2. What you believe about others
3. What you believe about yourself

So two areas to look and test yourself by.

  1. What do you pull out of your container for yourself? Do you have enough for times when it is hard? Do you have enough stored up to keep yourself full of faith and encouragement?  Do you have good fruit to keep yourself full of joy, God's life within you?

  2. What do you pull out of your container for others?  If you are never giving to others then you have only stored up for yourself. If you want to reap you must sow. You only increase by sowing, giving away from yourself. Do you store enough fruit for other's?

Proverbs 18:20‭-‬21

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. NKJV

From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. NIV
