Do the Bus Stop

Do The Bus Stop

(Faith Builders)

Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. AMP

Faith is the confirmation of things hoped for, things that God the Father guaranteed through His Son Jesus. Biblical hope is not wishing for something, it is not crossing your fingers in thinking maybe so maybe not, in other words I have a 50 50 chance. Rather, Bible hope is the confident expectation God will do what He promised, by which you continue to draw strength in the fact the Lord is 100% faithful to what He promised. Now that's hope.

Hope continually looks at this. Hope keeps reassuring ourselves of His promises. Hope says He will come through on our behalf. This hope in our hearts expects Him to be faithful to His promises. You are actually growing strong by looking at what God said He will do. Just like the bus, it may not be here yet, but you keep looking for it, so much so that you are leaning out watching and waiting for it. Now this is the bus stop.

Have you ever waited for a bus? Every so often you will kind of walk to the curb,  lean out, and look for the bus. You may not see it yet but you know it is coming. You may look 2 or 3 times because you know the time is near for the bus to come. While you may not see it the first few times you look, it doesn't change your mind that the bus is coming. This is how hope works with your faith. You keep looking. You may not see it yet but you know He promised, so it is coming. He is faithful therefore it will happen.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.   AMP

Psalms 27:14

Wait for and confidently expect the Lord ; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.  AMP

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].  AMP

2 Peter 1:3‭-‬4

For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.  AMP

My faith grows strong because my hope grows strong. What I am hoping for I will continually keep saying and believing. God will do exactly what His word says He will do. I am not asking God to do anything He hasn't already said He would do. Here is a great example from scriptures.

Romans 4:20‭-‬21

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. NIV

But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. AMP

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.  NLT

No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised. AMPC

Just like waiting for your bus, you know the time the bus is supposed to come because you have the bus schedule. We have the Word of God which is just like having the bus schedule. The scriptures tell us what He has promised. Now in waiting I lean out and I keep looking for His promise to manifest with expectant anticipation.  Even though I do not see it, this doesn't mean it is not coming. I may see other people showing up to the bus stop because they know it's coming, some have even rode the bus before and know the schedule. This is what scripture states is the great cloud of witnesses. Because I have the schedule, and I have witnesses that know the bus is coming I can be confident it will come. I Look at my schedule,(the Word of God) and lean into His promise with the right attitude of allowing hope to cause my faith to grow strong, whether I see it coming or not. Because I know what the schedule tells me, I can sit down and wait in confidence with my faith holding firm, and growing, knowing that the promise is coming and that God will faithfully answer.

2 Cor 1:20-22

20 For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God. 21 But it is God Who confirms and makes us steadfast and establishes us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and has consecrated and anointed us [enduing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit]; 22 [He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise]. AMP

So do the bus stop and grow stronger in your faith.
