Bi-Annual Report

Wow, half of 2022 seems like it has flown by. So I wanted to give a bi-annual report on what Rubicon Ministries has been doing.

Our ministry is still involved in supporting less fortunate children in Costa Rica through a feeding program sponsored by LightForce International.Their programs are amazing. For some of these children, it is the only hot meal they will get all week. Their programs not only feed children but adults as well. They also help disadvantaged children who have special needs along with their mothers.

We started giving to help Ukrainian refugees but stopped because we couldn’t find enough info to continue. However, I have been trying to stay informed. I’ve been in  contact with a good friend in Romania to get information on his perspective from that side of the world, since their country borders Ukraine. Hopefully doors will open to help in some way as this tragedy continues to unfold.

We are also contributing to a summer camp to sponsor some of the children from the feeding program in Costa Rica. This is exciting as it is their first one.  They have been given use of an island where they will conduct the camp. The island has a facility specifically set up for this. They are taking children who do not have the means to do this for themselves and some of these children have never even seen the ocean. But while at this camp, they will have bible studies, worship even some surfing lessons. Their theme is called the great battle. It’s about the life of David and his defeating Goliath. The big question they will present is “if you knew God was on your side and you could not fail what would you do for Him?”.

I have been in the process of preparing book 3 of our discipleship series to print 100 copies. Of course these will be distributed for free.  I am also planning to print another 100 copies of book 2 in Spanish as we have already given away almost all of the first 100 copies of the book.

At Rubicon, we still see training as foundational basics and of utmost importance for the growth of the individual and therefore want to provide as much material as we can for free.

No mission trips have opened up yet but I am believing I will get back out there soon.  I still speak occasionally. I’m still writing, and in fact working on a new book about living in the moment. This book is about how Jesus was the quintessential example of living in the moment and we, as followers, are being conformed to that image. As the writing continues I will be posting some excerpts to our website.

Well, we would like to say a big thank you to all of you who support Rubicon with your prayers and financial gifts. Together we are building His Kingdom.

In your service, Kim and Bettye Carroll
